Championship Team Defense & Face-Offs - VHS

With Al Murdoch, Head Coach, Iowa State University This video begins with numerous body and puck checking techniques to improve defensive advantage. Team defensive principles are then developed including defensive reactions to 2-on-1 and 3-on-2 situations, defending break-aways and blocking shots. Numerous penalty-killing techniques in the defensive zone are covered including one- and two-man disadvantage situations. Also covered are three-man rotations in the neutral zone when at a two-man disadvantage. Fundamental plays are demonstrated for face-off situations such as winning the draw, losing the draw, gaining puck possession from the face-off, and if the other team gains puck possession from the face-off.
